I drew my inspiration from the beautiful Sutton Hoo Helmet, now housed in the British Museum. I was trying to achieve an abstraction of the warrior: courageous, remorseless, but elegant and beautiful. The dimensions of this frameless piece refer to the cut-out of the mount.
